José Mota

José Albano Ferreira Mota, (Paredes, 25 February 1964), is a former Portuguese footballer, currently coach of the Clube Desportivo das Aves.

Having completed his formation at FC Porto, he pursued a professional career at Aliados Futebol Clube Lordelo and at Futebol Clube Paços de Ferreira, the latter, where he was champion of the Second Portuguese League.

In 1996, he finished his career as a professional footballer at FC Paços de Ferreira, where he assumed the post of assistant coach of the senior team in the following season. Later, he was Principal Coach, where he remained for 10 years, national champion of the 2nd Portuguese Division, now as Coach, done that repeated it again years later.

José Mota, also passed the Santa Clara Sport Club, Leixões Sport Club, Clube de Futebol «Os Belenenses», Vitória Futebol Clube, Gil Vicente Futebol Clube and Clube Desportivo Feirense, always presenting an excellent work.

He is currently the Head Coach of the Sporting Clube das Aves, a club that in 2017/2018 won the Portuguese Cup, winning Sporting CP in the final, with José Mota in charge, bringing the Aves CD to his first title in all his history.
